The World of wireless communications

A solution that uses the free hand or the speaker of the voice on the cell phone keep away of a person's head, therefore no safety concerns.

Therefore, a good solution to this problem would be to stop and then receive your call, which will be much safer for you and others who are with you on the road.

The use of cell phones cause cancer as scientists have shown. It also distracts drivers way thus causing accidents and killing people. Cell phones also develop bad manners phone when a person raises his voice once he begins to use and it becomes a habit later.

On the other hand, the need to use a telephone phone can be very useful as it can help a lost camper to find your way back to only allowing you to make a call and ask for directions. In addition, whether certain areas of the city are considered to be dangerous, then using the pay phone may be inconvenient and dangerous to life, hence the cell phone is in hand and can help solve the problem. An example of this would be my father when I was on a business trip to Japan. As it is impossible to understand the language a completely different culture and country, as it is also difficult to get around. If not for the cell phone, my father had had a very hard time get around and reach even to work. In several incidents, which clearly points out that even goes for a walk can be baffling, as everything all looks similar.

Another absolute necessity for business people would use their cell phones to make and run their businesses. It is an absolute nuisance if not carried with them because a lot of important numbers, addresses, customer names, and messages can be stored on it that helps them get through the daily work. At the other end of the spectrum, which helps business customers or visitors have easy contact with him. An example would be my boss I worked during the summer as a secretary. He was supposed to meet with his client to discuss business over dinner. Until the last hour before the business dinner meeting, the client called and apologized for not being able to do so because there were other more important issues to attend. In this case, it was easy and accessible for the customer to make a call and reach my boss at the time to tell. This helped save time in my head that might have been expecting for a long time.

Wireless Communications

Wireless communications are becoming increasingly popular in today's fast paced world. Mobility, portability, and instant access (via Internet) unlimited information have become the mantra of companies and individuals alike. The evolution of wireless communications has been incredibly fast and the future of this technology is unlimited. The impact of this technology in our lives is tremendous and we can do things you never imagined.

What is a wireless communication?

The two main services in use today are wireless packet radio and private phones. The service you choose depends Application (s) a company or individual wants to run.

Cell

cell technology is common in business and private sector.

There are two types of cellular technology: 1) circuit switched phones, and 2) cellular digital packet data (CDPD). A circuit switched cellular attractive features is its availability nationwide. Another advantage is the ability to send voice and data through mobile phones. Circuit-switched cellular is ideal if the application requires the exchange of text messages long, large files, or faxes, as normally charges per minute of connection time, not by the number of bytes transferred. A practical application of this technology is the transfer of data from a laptop via a wireless modem and phone. The initial cost to equip a laptop to connect to a cellular network is about $ 400. A disadvantage of this type of service is the long setup time of each connection required (about 30 seconds).

The cellular digital packet data is best suited for transaction processing and database queries. This service offers rapid establishment of a call (about 5 seconds), and is inexpensive for short messages, such as sending email. The main disadvantages of CDPD are expenses transfers of large files, and limited availability of the service (currently available in over 40 cities).

Packet Radio Luxury

Packet Radio estate, although not as common as cellular companies offer extended connectivity. The two main private providers of packet radio in the U.S. are Ardis and RAM Mobile Data. These services can connect to virtually anywhere in the country. Packet Radio offers luxury establishment speed dial and is well suited to communications that generate short messages, in bursts, such as email, database queries and applications point sale. Since the private packet radio has existed for several years, there are many applications that use the network. Some commercial applications that use messaging handle, programming, electronic submission of expense reports, and even allow insurance agents to process accident claim forms of a customer's home or Office (Salamone 96). The disadvantage of private packet radio, as CDPD, is that it is expensive for large file transfers.

The fundamental problem facing wireless communications is that none of the major wireless data services is ideal for all applications. The barriers to widespread adoption data connections for laptop computers and personal digital assistants (PDA) are lack of compatibility between services, the cost of services, and size and the price of wireless modems.

History of Wireless Communications

radio telephones have been used for decades, but have not been widely available due to the limited capacity of the system. The progress that has addressed this problem of capacity was the development of the concept of cell, allowing reuse frequency. Needless to say, the use of wireless communications has increased exponentially since that breakthrough. The evolution of wireless systems can be divided into several stages: 1) the current scenario, 2) the analog generation system first, 3) the second generation digital, and 4) the third generation system (Discussed below). Promised services, the technologies and the development schedule are summarized in Table 1 (see Appendix A).

Prevailing Stage

The predominant phase occurred during the 1950's and 1960's. The land mobile radio systems, such as police communication and taxi dispatch systems have been developed. Radio navigation of ships and aircraft, and your portable radio for the battlefield were other applications. The team was sending and receiving bulky and expensive at this early stage of development.

First Generation System

The first generation wireless system is based on analogue technology and was developed in 1970 and 1980 for public use. The price of hardware is reduced rapidly and the demand for wireless services grew rapidly in this phase. The cellular concept was adopted and various technologies such as the reuse of channels spatial and cell division were developed to improve system capacity. The growth in service demand in the first analog generation system exceeded system capacity in some areas. The digital communication technology was mature enough for commercial use, and led to the second generation digital wireless system.

Second generation system

The second generation system was built in the 1980's and 1990's, and included the application of digital technology. The system capacity is several times higher than the traditional analog system. More service features were introduced, the quality of service has improved, and the cost was significantly reduced. The demand for mobile communications has grown tremendously with the development second generation system. Growth rates in various parts of the world are 20-50%. The existing capacity in some market areas are now close to saturation. The practice of mobile voice communications market also stimulated other personal communication services. Portable computing and communication Wireless data have become not only attractive, but also feasible. With the development of technologies, the integration of wired and wireless services voice and data will be improved in future years (Li 1212).

Wireless LAN

A brief analysis of the history and architecture the network will be useful to demonstrate the impact of wireless communications have had and will continue in computer science. The first generation of wireless LAN networks are designed to work with workstation, and are not suitable for laptop batteries. The next generation of wireless LAN networks are developing around the laptop, palm-top computers and feather pad. The wireless connection is a natural for portable computing devices that are growing in popularity. "In this environment researchers are thinking about new concepts such as ad hoc networks (Fig. 1 Appendix A), nomadic access (Fig. 2 Appendix A), and mobile computing that leads to the fusion of computing and communications in a ubiquitous computing environment "(Chase 89). Typical applications of this process include a campus wireless or a wireless battlefield in which a user (student / soldier) can move within a local area with continuous access computing resources and information. "There is not much that mobile teams do as well or better than desktop systems. And the technology that challenges Mobile resolve remaining significantly change the face of computing "(Reinhardt 100). The merger of computers and wireless communications, local area networks in this case, in fact have a significant impact in the future, and will dramatically change the way we do things.

The future Wireless Communications

Third generation system

Personal Communications Systems (PCS) is considered the next important step in the evolution communication systems. According to the definition proposed by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission in its Notice of Inquiry, PCS is the system by which each user can exchange information with anyone, anytime, anywhere through any device, using a single telecommunications device personal. The underlying vision of the emerging services of mobile and personal communications to allow communication with a person at any time, anywhere and in any form (Li 1210). The main features of PCS are: 1) high quality multimedia services, 2) multiple environments, 3) Multiple types of user, 4) global roaming capability, 5) the unique personal telecommunication number (PTN), 6) Very high capacity, 7) the universal headset, and 8) safety service. Enabling concepts to provide universal personal communications include terminal mobility (which provides wireless access), personal mobility (Based on number of staff) and service portability. Personal mobility is based on the use of unique personal identity (personal number). portability services refers to the ability of network services subscribed to the place designated by the user.

Terminal Mobility

Terminal mobility is associated with wireless and requires the user to carry the handset and be within radio coverage area. "The scope and applications of mobility terminals are expanding rapidly thanks to advances in wireless technologies and miniaturization of mobile terminals (Pandya 44). Digital Cordless Telecommunication Systems aims to provide terminal mobility in the residential business, and public access applications where users can originate and receive calls on their mobile devices as to relocate and move at speeds of pedestrians in the area of coverage. This type of system provides an academic environment where students could access library information, teachers can give lectures, and assignments could become in a building with no real physical, classroom or office. The range of applications, often associated with personal communication systems is large.

A current trend

Paging Power is the current trend in wireless services and is paving the way for the PCS. At present the power of paging is a bit of a misnomer, because the terminal is a computer device that standard pagers. "Motorola has made a bid for market leadership in wireless two-way with the announcement notes, an ambitious client, platform / server-based messaging (Matzkin 31). Memos provides a complete operating environment and an open development environment. This device offers wireless Internet access and plenty of messaging options including email, fax and voice messaging. This whole assembly while in the palm of your hand.

The merger of computers and communications into a unified entity may seem a subtle distinction of computers and networks popular today.
